Heather Hanna
Hello, my name is Heather Hanna, and I am running for the position of State Representative for District 5 in the Pennsylvania State Legislature. The responsibility of a State Representative is to serve the public and truly represent the people. The foundation of my platform is to improve the general welfare and quality of life for all residents of the district. As a member of the Legislature, the role of representative also requires purposeful governance. I will initiate and support legislation that will advance the interests of District 5 and the entire Commonwealth of Pennsylvania. My energy and efforts will keenly focus on five broad and intimately connected areas of need.
Healthcare: Identify and improve access to medical and healthcare resources and services.
Education & Training: Identify, create, and support pathways for access to education and training.
Employment: Grow employment opportunities in the district. Support economic growth for businesses.
Environment: Balance economic development with support for agriculture, family farms, and land preservation. Support efforts to maintain clean air and water, recreational opportunities, and wildlife management which all contribute to the quality of life.
Public Safety: Find ways to improve the quality and safety of roads. Identify crime-related issues and create solutions to enhance the safety of the community.
The PA 5th Legislative District consists of part of Berks County including the following townships: Bern, Bethel, Centre, Heidelberg, Jefferson, Lower Heidelberg, Marion, North Heidelberg, Ontelaunee, Penn, Perry, South Heidelberg, Spring (Districts 05, 07, and 08), Tulpehocken and the boroughs of Bernville, Centerport, Leesport, Robesonia, Shoemakersville, Wernersville, and Womelsdorf.
